Saudi Arabia’s Best Sports for Beach and Sea Adventures

Saudi Arabia boasts a stunning coastline stretching along the Red Sea and offers adventure seekers a wide range of exhilarating nautical pursuits. There are various locations across the nation where you may enjoy fantastic water-based activities, whether it is discovering uncharted diving places, admiring the topaz waters abounding with brilliant coral reefs, battling the waves on a jet ski, or baiting a hook on a deep sea fishing trip. Here is a list of all of our favorite places:

Jeddah

Jeddah, the finest diving location serves as a fantastic starting point for exploring the fascinating underwater Red Sea environment. For experienced divers, check out the Ann Ann near Abu Farnish or the historic shipwreck Staphonos in Air Tabur. Divers at Sharm Obhur would encounter a wonderful experience, marveling at clownfish, lionfish, and a variety of eels.

Yanbu

Yanbu, a port city on the Red Sea coast, is well known for its stunning white sand beaches and fantastic diving locations. Visit Yanbu’s Barracuda Beach to experience close-up views of beautiful marine life like sharks, tuna, and barracuda. Sharm Yanbu, though, is your best option if swimming or snorkeling is more your style.

Oyster Island is a terrific fishing location with BBQ facilities where you may prepare your catch of the day if getting soaked is not your idea of fun. Al Nawras Island is also a fantastic location for people looking to unwind while fishing.

Umluj

Umluj, often referred to as the Maldives of Saudi Arabia is a stunning location located two hours drive from Yanbu. This area offers pristine islands and blue oceans where you may relax by the sea. Umluj is a terrific place to dip your toes in the sand and enjoy some barefoot therapy if you are looking to unwind. Lay back on the sand, enjoy the sunshine, and watch the waves lapping at your feet. The palm-lined beaches are ideal for reading in peace, having a beach BBQ, or stargazing at night. However, if you are looking for more adventure during your vacation, there are a ton of water-based activities available here.

There are plenty of opportunities for diving and snorkeling thanks to the area’s clean water and more than 100 little islets. You can be sure that the spectacular undersea treasures will wow you. This place has a lot of wonderful things to learn about all around it, from Hawksbill sea turtles and dolphins to an astounding variety of exotic coral reefs.

Jizan and Farasan Island

The coastal city of Jizan is unquestionably one of the best locations for nautical adventures with its deep blue water and uninhabited islands. Golden Beach is a good place to go swimming, diving, or snorkeling. Al Shaqaiq Beach, which is blessed with breathtaking natural beauty, is the perfect option for fishing lovers.

The alluring Farasan Island, located around 40km from Jizan is a must-see. This collection of more than 170 islands and islets is ideal for snorkeling because of its lovely beaches, amazing underwater species, and shimmering coral reefs. It is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, where one can be amazed at the numerous gazelles and birds like flamingos, pink-backed pelicans, and red-billed tropic birds.

Al Lith

Al Lith is a fantastic location with lots of enjoyable water activities, it is the perfect location for thrill enthusiasts and is only 2.5 hours drive from Jeddah. Al Lith Mountain, an island noted for its unusual animals and golden beaches, is located off the coast of Al Lith. Scuba dive in the clean seas to see the magnificent coral reef and the thriving marine life. And if you are fortunate enough, you can enjoy a shark encounter! With activities like diving and snorkeling, Al Lith Beach is a great place to spend the day.
