Saudi Arabia is constructing their own Luxurious Island fit for a Prince

Thuwal Private Retreat is a confidential, buy-out-only island under construction in Saudi Arabia. While the kingdom’s wealthiest have been known to go to the Maldives for such luxuries, they will soon be accessible closer to home.

Thuwal Private Retreat, an ultra-luxurious and possibly ultra-secretive private island off Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, was unveiled. The island, billed as a destination of “indulgence,” is set to launch next year and will only be available for whole buy-outs. The retreat is being created by Red Sea Global, the same firm behind the multibillion-dollar Red Sea tourism projects The Red Sea and Amaala. Unlike similar developments, which will include over 100 hotels, Thuwal Private Retreat will be small and personal.

The 1.7-hectare beach island will have a main three-bedroom villa, three one-bedroom apartments, a beach club, a gym, and a wellness center, as well as a beach club, gym, and wellness center. There will be no third parties engaged, unlike in Amaala and The Red Sea. The site will be developed and managed by Red Sea Global.

RSG said: “There are no third-party hospitality or hotel operators involved for the first time in RSG’s development history.”

“This is an important moment for us,” said company CEO John Pagano. “It is the most recent project we can disclose since we revealed our enlarged portfolio of projects last year, and it is well on its way to completion.” It is also the first time that Red Sea Global is developing and operating a destination from start to finish, from planning and creation to accommodations and guest services.”
